Moodboard: Cushion Cuts

With its romantic, vintage style the cushion cut stone is fast becoming our new cut crush. One of the oldest diamond shapes, the cushion-cut originally came about before jewellers were able to create perfectly round shapes, making it an old fashion ode to imperfection that we cannot resist.

The cushion cut’s rounded corners and large facets intensify the sparkle and also allows the stone to appear larger than its actual weight. Their shape can vary from a square to a rectangle, but - something to bear in mind - because of the large table (flat part on the top) the cushion cut can also highlight any flaws the stone may have.

From Meghan Markle to Kim Kardashian the cushion cut is a celeb engagement ring favourite, below we have edited some of or favourite designs featuring a cushion cut stone for you to crush on.
